A popular entertainer on the British country music scene, Alan
Cameron combines his songwriting and witty humour to offer an
exciting and colourful performance that never fails to please. A
Spanish Lullaby offers a collection of Alan's own songs
featuring a theme of Mediterranean sun and fun, inspired by Alan's
excursions to Ibiza and Tenerife, where he performs several times a
year.
From the opening track, the heady intoxication of "A
Spanish Lullaby", "My Island
Under The Sun", and the chill of "Till
My Ship Comes Sailing In", dreamily transports you to
warmer climes with the glow of those sun kissed islands with waves
gently lapping against golden sands. Alan's comic genius comes to
the fore, with the tongue in cheek, "The
Song Of The Thong", which he wrote with Joan McNeil,
hilariously capturing the sun worshippers lying in rows on those
warm sandy beaches. Alan's good friends in Ibiza, Lazy Daisy join
him for the jaunty "Cervesa, Cervesa"
amusingly telling of Alan's escapades in the Spanish nightlife.
A change of direction sees "He
Walks Among Angels" offering a fond tribute to British
artiste Ricky Silver, who sadly passed away around 10 years ago.
Homage is also paid to Alan's own hero Hank Williams Snr, with "If
The Good Lord's Willing", a song he wrote about Hank's
death 50 years ago this next New Years Eve (2002).
A touch of personal relationships can be found with "You're
Not The Only One", "Till The
Right Man Comes Along" and "Why
Does It Feel So Right". Alan's charisma on stage is
mirrored in the carefully delivered gems assembled here. 12 tracks
full of warmth, colour and fun, swirl around as Alan sings from the
bottom of his heart. You can't fail with A
Spanish Lullaby and the musical talents of Alan Cameron.
