As Scotland's leading singer/songwriter and broadcaster
Gerry Ford is known far and wide. Currently celebrating 28 years
as a professional entertainer, Gerry has appeared all round the
U.K. and has performed on 21 occasions at the Grand Ole Opry in
Nashville as guest of legendary country singer Jean Shepard. Gerry
has presented radio programs on BBC Radio Scotland, Radio 2
including guest presenter of the long running Country Club, as
well as Glasgow Country 105 and Clan F.M. in Lanarkshire.
Family Bible is Gerry's most
recent release leaning heavily towards his Gospel strengths
bringing about a moist eye or setting the feet a-tapping with an
assembly of inspirational songs. Family
Bible contains 12 tracks with Gerry being joined by
long-standing friend, Grand Ole Opry member Jean Shepard for a
medley of five songs, "Let's All Go
Down To The River", "I'll
Fly Away", "Will The Circle
Be Unbroken", "I Saw The
Light" and "Somebody
Touched Me".
Gerry offers a little Christian soul to lift your spirits
with the heartfelt "Lord I'd Forgotten"
and Gail Davies' "Someone Is Looking
For Someone Like You". A real country stormer comes in
the form of "One Of These Days".
Superbly sung, "Jesus I Need To Talk To
You" sees a young lad drawing inner strength while
missing his departed mom. Boxcar Willie specially wrote the song
for Gerry. Also find Paul Overstreet/Paul Davis' song "What
God Has Joined Together".
Soak up the musical magic and rejoice in the Gospel sounds
of earthy tones, seeing a fine selection of musicians supporting
Gerry and his gentle relaxing style. Capable and up to the mark,
Gerry travels the rocky road of emotional soul searching songs.
Just hop aboard the Glory Train with Gerry Ford and Family
Bible…an up-lifting album worthy to
grace a corner of anyone's record collection.
